Milk Bread
08 Breads - Milk Bread
3 Cups Flour (750 grams)
2 Teaspoon Salt
75 grams Butter cut into cubes
7 grams Dried Yeast Sachet
1 Tablespoon Castor Sugar
300 ml Milk
150 ml Water
Sift the flour into a deep bowl and add salt.
Rub the butter into the flour with your fingertips to form breadcrumbs.
Add the Yeast and Castor Sugar to the flour mixture.
Warm the Milk and Water (2min in 600W Microwave) - NB Warm, not hot.
Add to the mixture and mix with your hands to form a soft dough and the sides of the bowl remains clean.
Sprinkle flour on work surface then knead and stretch the dough for about 10 mins until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in dish, cover with cling wrap and leave in a warm place to rise.
To make the Bread
Roll the dough into shape of the baking loaf pan. Place in the loaf pan and dust with flour.
Bake on 220°C for about 30 mins or until golden brown.
