Batter Fish
06 Main Fish - Batter Fish
500 grams Kingklip or Hake fillets
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1/2 Teaspoon Pepper
1 Teaspoon Lemon pepper
Lemon juice
120 grams Cake flour
80 grams Corn flour
1 Egg (Separated)
280 ml Water
Season fish with salt, pepper and lemon juice.
Sift the flour and corn flour in a bowl.
Beat the egg yolk with water and add to flour and beat the mixture to a smooth batter.
Whisk the egg white until stiff, then fold it into the batter.
Season the batter with lemon pepper.
Sprinkle fish with flour and dip into batter.
Fry in oil on medium heat till golden brown.
Drain well on paper towel.
