Masala Fried Fish
06 Main Fish - Masala Fried Fish
1 Kilogram Fresh fish
1 Tablespoon crushed Garlic
1 Tablespoon ground Coriander
1 Tablespoon ground Cumin
1 Teaspoon Tumeric
1/2 Teaspoon Fine Red Chilli
1 Tablespoon crushed Red Chilli
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Tablespoon Lemon juice
1/4 Cup Olive Oil for frying
Wash the fish and dry with tissue paper.
Mix the spices together spread out in a plate.
Roll each piece of fish in the spice and ensure it is coated properly.
Place the spiced fish in a dry plate and do not stack the pieces up. Excess moisture will cause the spices to run off the fish.
Keep refrigerated if not fried immediately.
Put a frying pan onto high heat and add oil.
Place the fish pieces skin side down when the oil is ready.
Fry the fish on each side for about 2 minutes so the spices form a a crust then reduce the heat to medium and fry for another 6 minutes or until done.
Remove the fish and drain on paper.
If not served immediately drain the oil from the pan after removing the fish, then place the fish back in the pan and reheat on high before serving.
