4 Cups Flour
62.5 grams Butter
4 Teaspoon Baking Powder
Salt
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Essence
2 Eggs
1 Cup Buttermilk
Oil for frying
Toppings
Icing Sugar
Cinnamon Sugar
Rub the butter into the flour.
Then make a dough with buttermilk, eggs and remaining ingredients.
Roll out about 1cm thick.
Cut rings using doughnut cutter; or, use a circular cutter then a bottle top for the center.
Fry in Oil golden brown.
Flip over as they puff and turn a couple of times as they cook.Â
Takes about 2-3 minutes.
Options for toppings:
- Coat with icing glaze
- sprinkle cinnamon sugar
